Learn more about Ontario’s immigration programs

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is an economic relocation destination that is designed to serve the region’s labour market needs and help Ontario meet its own economic development priorities. The OINP offers the opportunity for people who have the skills and work experience required by the economic sector of the province to apply for a permanent residency nomination and assists employers in providing jobs and retaining immigrant workers.

The OINP is administered by the region, along with the federal government through the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This program evaluates immigration applications and grants continuing residence nominations to foreign workers. Workers who are nominated under this system can apply to the IRCC for permanent residency. The IRCC will make the final decision on each application and will grant permanent residency to successful immigrants.
