Еxpress Entry
Launched in January 2015, the Express Entry (EE) system was designed to enable Canada to meet its future labor market needs to support long-term economic growth. In 2019, more than 85,300 participants of this program were invited to apply for permanent Canadian status. More than 40,550 notifications were sent to applicants residing outside the country. As of 2020, the goal of the program was set at 195,800 people, and this number is expected to increase significantly over the next 5 years.
The system was introduced by Immigration, Refugees and Canadian Citizenship (IRCC). The program’s main goal is to select candidates for immigration to Canada through three main sub-programs:

Atlantic immigration
On January 27, 2017, the Government of Canada announced the details of the Atlantic Experimental Immigration Program.
On July 4, 2016, the main immigration policy goals of Canadian provinces such as New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island and Labrador (commonly known as Atlantic Canada) were first announced as part of the Atlantic Growth Strategy.
Rural and Northern Immigration
Pilot Program
The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program aims to attract experienced foreign workers to Canada’s least populated areas, such as the northern part of the country, as well as small towns in the provinces that are popular with immigrants.
For cities and villages that have announced the need for skilled immigrants, the program will be open at different times.
Family class Sponsorship
A sponsored partner is a foreign national over the age of 18 who resides outside of Canada and has had a real (NOT fictitious) relationship with his or her sponsor for at least 1 year. A foreign national living in Canada cannot be a sponsored partner.
