Skilled Worker Program
Skilled Worker Program is a program for foreign candidates working in occupations at Level 0, A or B of the National Occupational Classification of Canada (NOC). Critical Impact Worker Program is a program for immigrants working in occupations at Level C or D of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).
Criteria for the Candidate
An immigrant applying for permanent residency in Canada under the Skilled Worker Program Critical and the Yukon Impact Worker Program must:
- Have a valid Temporary Work Permit (Temporary Work Permit) or Student Visa (Study Permit) if the foreign worker is in Canada when applying;
- Not have applied for refugee status and not have a refugee implied status;
- Be in possession of a guaranteed offer of employment in the Yukon that meets all the requirements for a nomination from that territory;
- Provide required evidence of previous work experience;
- Critical Impact Worker Program: At least 6 months of full-time work experience within the past 10 years;
- Skilled Worker Program: At least 12 months of full-time work experience in the past 10 years;
- Demonstrate proficiency in a foreign language necessary to perform the duties of the profession (this must be an IELTS, TEF Canada or TCF score);
- Aspire to live in the Yukon and apply for permanent residency in the country within 3 to 6 months of starting work.
