SINP – Students
This program is designed for students who:
- have been educated at a certified institution of higher education (CoHE) in the country;
- want to be nominated through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP);
- meet the eligibility requirements for the SINP.
Students also have the option of applying to other SINP programs as well, if they fit their eligibility requirements.
SINP selection factors in the Students program
This program is intended for students who have already graduated from an educational institution in the region.
To qualify under this program, you must:
- to receive a higher education from a certified university of this province with:
- diploma;
- certificate;
- an appropriate academic degree;
- work in a paying job in this province for at least 6 months (this equals 960 hours);
- program-accounted jobs in the province of Saskatchewan:
- work within the higher education institution itself;
- work outside of the higher education institution;
- apprenticeship;
- participation in research programs approved by a chosen higher education institution, and
- work experience that you have obtained through a special graduate work permit;
- in addition to submitting your application, you also have an active graduate work permit from the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC);
- you have a full-time offer of employment which includes a full-time position in an acquired academic field from a provincial employer. The terms and conditions of such work:
- it must be on the appropriate list in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) and must be at level A, B or 0,
- the occupation can be a recognized occupation or
- you must fulfill your professional responsibilities on the job offer you have received in your field of specialization, and it is compulsory that you have a university degree;
- Immigrants applying and majoring in food must select the Hospitality Sector Project when applying;
- you have an active SINP Job Approval Letter;
- your language proficiency must be rated at least at Level 4 on the Canadian CLB if the position on your job offer is a Level C occupation on the NOC job listing.
Students who received their higher education in Canada
In order to successfully complete the qualification under this system, you must:
- obtain a program of higher education equal to at least 1 academic year of full-time study (which is 8 months) from a Canadian certified institution of higher education (outside the province of Saskatchewan) with:
- diploma;
- certificate;
- an appropriate academic degree;
- in addition to sending in your application, you must also receive an active graduate work permit from the Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC);
- once you have completed your education, you have worked in a paying job in your field of study in Saskatchewan for at least 6 months (this is equivalent to 960 hours);
- in this region, the knowledge and skills you acquired while working on your graduate work permit also count as work experience;
- you have a job offer that includes full-time conditions in an acquired training profile from a provincial employer. The conditions of such a job:
- it must be on the appropriate list of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) and must be at level A, B or 0;
- the occupation can be a recognized occupation or
- you must be able to carry out your job according to the job offer you have received and it is compulsory that you have a university degree;
- Immigrants applying and specializing in the food service industry must select the Hospitality Sector Project when applying;
- you have an active SINP Job Approval Letter;
- your language proficiency must be at least level 4 on the Canadian CLB if the position on your job offer is in occupational group C on the appropriate list in the National Occupational Classification of Canada (NOC).
