Masters Graduate Stream / Immigration selection system
Qualification Requirements
To be eligible to apply through the Masters Graduate Stream system, you must meet the following requirements:
- Education: You must meet all the requirements to obtain a Master’s Degree. Specifically, you must have completed at least 1 year of full-time study at a certified institution of higher education in Ontario;
- Language skills: You must have the minimum required level of language proficiency on the Canadian Language Benchmarks Scale (CLB);
- at least level 7 in English or
- at least level 7 in French.
- Residing in the province: You must prove that you have lived in the region for at least 12 months in the past 2 years prior to submitting your immigration application;
- Settlement finances: You must have adequate funds and/or income to cover all settlement and relocation expenses for your family members;
- Intent: You must be willing to live in the province;
- Residence at the time of your immigration application: You are required to reside legally in this province. This is possible under an appropriate work, study or temporary resident permit, or living outside the country during this period. If you are currently living in Canada, but not in Ontario, you will not be able to participate in this program;
- Time limit for accepting immigration applications: You must submit this application within 2 years of completing your master’s degree. For the OINP program, this is the date you receive your degree. If you do not have a credential, the program considers the date on which the official letter from the institution where you are studying was received. Otherwise, it should be the date you receive your diploma.
