International Skilled Worker: Occupation In-Demand
This system is designed for experienced workers who:
- do not have a job offer in the province of Saskatchewan, but are highly qualified professionals in the occupations listed in the list of required specializations in this region of Canada, and
- are suitable for the requirements of this program.
Conditions for selection in the International Skilled Worker: Occupation In-Demand subprogram under the SINP program
You can apply under this system if you live outside of Canada or have proof of legal residence in the country, but you do not qualify as an official refugee. You must also meet the following criteria:
- you received at least 60 points out of 100 under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP);
- your language proficiency score is at least level 4 on the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB)
- it is likely that the employer or the relevant regulatory body will require a higher level of language competence;
- you have completed higher education, vocational training or special education equivalent in the Canadian education system for at least 1 year. Legal proof of this is the relevant certificate, diploma or degree;
- credentials and required diplomas obtained within Canada must have their educational credentials (ECAs) evaluated by a special company on the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) list of organizations;
- you have at least 1 year of work experience for the past 10 years of work:
- in a field that is suitable for your education or specialized training;
- in a professional position according to the National Classification of Occupations (NOC) appropriate for immigration levels A, B or 0, which is mentioned in the SINP’s In-Demand Occupation List;
- if you choose a profession that requires a regulatory permit or qualified certification as required by Canada and/or Saskatchewan, you will need to provide proof of professional status or license. You can learn more about this aspect in the conditions specified in the SINP In-Demand Occupation List. If you meet the eligibility criteria, your immigration application will be processed until the required evidence is submitted in the form of documents. The rest of the required documentation must be part of your application, otherwise your application will not be considered and then it will be rejected altogether, and the payment of funds for consideration will not be returned;
- you have the necessary finances for immigration and the relocation plan itself.
Passing Score
You can receive a nomination under this system provided that you have obtained at least 60 out of 100 points on the SINP rating scale.
Points can be obtained for the following 5 factors:
- education;
- work experience in professional specializations;
- language competence;
- age;
- the presence of family members and the ability to adapt to the conditions of the labor market in the province of Saskatchewan.
