Business Nominee Program

An immigrant wishing to move to Canada on the business side of the Yukon Territory must meet the following criteria:

  • Score at least 65 points on the assessment grid
  • Have higher education
  • Have at least three years of management experience in the business field
  • Have at least 5 years of experience in your own business
  • Not have refugee status and have not applied for it to the country’s authorities
  • No prior immigration refusal from the Canadian authorities
  • You must only apply to the Yukon for an immigration program
  • Have net assets of at least 500,000 Canadian dollars (CAD). Their receipt according to the law will be verified by the relevant auditing company of the territory
  • Hold at least 300,000 CAD of liquid assets. The appropriate Yukon auditing firm will legally verify their receipt
  • Wish to be a resident of the Yukon Territory
  • You must hold a position in your own business in a NOC (National Occupational Classification of Canada) Level 0 or A specialization
  • Not own an established business in the Yukon at the time of application for immigration
  • Demonstrate a business disposition plan of at least 300,000 CAD for the first 2 years (not including the investment made in the Yukon Business Nominee Program application approval). The list includes property or equipment, but not premises or a means of transportation, which are not part of the list of costs of production

Criteria for Business:

Under this program, your business must be new or acquired in the Yukon Territory and be an active investment. That is, the immigration candidate themselves leads it in one of these strategic areas:

  • Information technology
  • Manufacturing
  • Value-added production
  • Forestry
  • Tourism products, attractions, services, and amenities
  • Energy
  • Mining or processing of mineral deposits
  • Agriculture
  • Culture
  • Film and video production

Areas, in which it is not allowed to establish a business in the Yukon under the Business Nominee Program:

  • Passive investments
  • Retail and wholesale trade, distribution operations
  • Restaurant services
  • Financial services
  • Consulting, personal and business services
  • Most professional services
  • Real estate
  • Holding companies
  • Gas stations
