Newfoundland and Labrador Express Entry Skilled Worker

Under the Newfoundland and Labrador Express Entry Skilled Worker system, the region selects applicants who have registered for Express Entry and have a full-time job offer in that province in one of the occupations in demand. This occupation must be at least level 0, A or B on the Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC).

To be eligible for the Express Entry program, you must meet the requirements of one of the federal economic industry systems: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, or the Canadian Experience Class Program. When you are nominated by that region, you will get 600 points from the Comprehensive Ranking System. You will also receive an invitation to apply for permanent residency in that country.

Qualification Requirements

  • at least 67 points out of 100 on the PNP point estimate grid on the Express Entry form;
  • a work permit, which must expire at least 4 months from the date of application or you must be eligible to apply for a work permit;
  • a diploma showing that you obtained your higher education degree in this country or a diploma evaluation/evaluation document from a foreign institution of higher education, corresponding to a Canadian higher education diploma;
  • approval of intent and ability to settle in the area;
  • sufficient funds to cover all of your settlement costs and other family members’ relocation to the area;
  • a certificate of completion of a widely recognized language proficiency exam in Canada that demonstrates the level of language proficiency you specified on your Express Entry.
